Qualification / Experience
To work in the insurance sector you will need to have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team. You will need to be able to work in a high pressure environment as well as having a meticulous approach to work.

GCSE’s – At least 5 A* - C grades – maths is essential

If you’re seeking a claims handler role you will need to have strong GCSE results. If you’re looking for an entry level role and you do not have any previous claims handling experience, employers will be interested in any customer service experience you may have, or any role where you may have used analytical skills.

Other roles in Insurance will require further qualifications.

A – Level’s – At least 2 A – C grades
Degree - accounting, finance, economics, law, and business studies all preferred but not essential for all roles in insurance.

Higher roles in insurance will require further qualifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute
